Vision

The vision of the Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON) is an organization where all members are professionally empowered and committed to the pursuit of the rights of women to achieve the highest possible standards of physical, mental, reproductive and sexual health and wellbeing throughout their lives.

Mission

SOGON is dedicated to the improvement of women’s health and rights and the reduction of maternal and newborn mortality, as well as advancing the science and practice of gynaecology and obstetrics in Nigeria.

The activities of SOGON are guided by the constitution. The provisions of the constitution are binding on all members. The last revision of the constitution was undertaken in November 2012 at the 46th Annual General Meeting of SOGON held in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

The society shall pursue its mission through advocacy, programmatic activities and capacity strengthening of its members and partners
